Почему Париж???

Posted under Париж

Open kindergartens in Norway, Stavanger

Posted under Норвегия

Hello everybody!

I would like to tell you about open kindergarten in Norway. Actually, I want to write about one kindergarten where we used to go for a half year. At first I will try to explain what it is and how it can help a mother to be not so tired after the whole day with her baby. So open kindergarten («åpen barnehage» - in Norwegian) is a place where a mother and her kids can spend a half day and feel themselves like at home. You can eat there, you can play, and you can even sing songs with a teacher.

Open kindergarten is usually open 3-4 times a week. Time when they are opening is between 9 and 10 o’clock. They close about 14:30 when it is time for little girl to has her nap. This happiness costs 30 NOK per day (5$).

In kindergarten where we used to go teachers select couple songs the day before you come and after all kids with their mothers can sit in circle and sing songs with some exercises (like clap of hands, jump and round dance). The Norwegian kids love that. Liza`s foto I can’t tell this about my lovely Ukrainian-American girl (I work as an au-pair in her family), she always seems unhappy because they speak Norwegian which she does not understand at all. I usually try to keep her on one place for this a half an hour. After this entertaining program they go to the dining room for drawing or handmade, and here teachers have some program too. They put on tables a lot of jars with special paint which you can easily remove from your child clothes. Probably you don’t have to do this, because teachers thought about it and have bought waterproof coat for children. Every week they have some new ideas for this painting hour. I can’t tell you everything, so I will show you something on pictures.

After this hour they have lunch. Now I tell you what they have for lunch, they have all staff what you may need for feed your baby and yourself)) Such as spoons, plates, knives, microwave oven, glasses, caps, etc.

They always have hot coffee and tea you can drink as much as you like for FREE. They have children chairs and tables where kids can sit side-by-side and enjoy each other company. After lunch you can let your kids go to any room what they like to play with other kids. There are a lot of toys, books and even a slide. While kids are playing you can have a nice talk with other moms.

Of course this kindergarten has a toilet with a small nice lavatory pan for your baby and one normal for you, low wash-stand where children can learn to wash their hands by themselves, changing room with changing table and special basket for dirty diaper.

In the Christmas time they bought Christmas tree and invited some man who was a Santa Claus. The other week they have a carnival. Everybody has to wear costume and my little girl was a Red Hat. The rest of the kids were Indian, cowboy, musketeer and some animals. What else I can tell about this kindergarten is that it was a nice place where kids can be together and try to make new and maybe their first friends. Why I said in the past? I said in the past, because this kindergarten has been closed last week. A building will be renewed and instead of open kindergarten there will be a new big ordinary kindergarten. Recently we have found another open kindergarten which I will describe next time. I noted the one thing - it is bigger, but not so cute like previous one. Now you can see the photos of this kindergarten.

P.S Don’t expect that every open kindergarten in Norway is like this… we were lucky.
